Newly sworn-in governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has defended his predecessor, ex-governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwas, despite leaving behind N105 billion debt.
Speaking during his maiden press briefing as Governor of the state, Ganduje told newsmen that the huge debt totalling N105 billion that were left behind by Kwankwas is not a crime, This day reports.

He however assured that his administration will settle all the debts, saying the new administration is a continuation of the last one.
In his words, “My government is predicated on continuity, consolidation, fine-tuning and innovation of new ideas”.
Ganduje noted that all the projects that were not able to be completed by Kwankwaso will be completed in his tenure.
“Our problem in Nigeria is lack of continuity but in this case all the projects will be completed in Kano and we will introduce new ones for the development of the state”, the governor said.
This comes just after Ganduje on Saturday dissolved the state’s Executive Council and relieved all the political office-holders of their duties.
