One Feared Dead As 'Terrorists' Storm Lagos Community

A group of ‘terrorists’ have reportedly besieged Ilu Oloye, a Lagos community which shares boundary with Ogun state, Naij.com can report.

Residents of community, who had been under attacks by landgrabbers, whom they described as terrorists, disclosed that the unnecessary attacks by the oppressors have gone out of hand,
especially with the death of one person in an attack which took place on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
One Feared Dead As 'Terrorists' Storm Lagos Community

In a chat with Naij.com, the residents who were represented by their legal adviser, Oluwatoyin Sadik, disclosed that they have made ceaseless compassionate appeals to the government to save them from the oppression of landgrabbers in their community, especially the leader of a syndicate; Kamoru Lamina, a.k.a. Sir K, but nothing has been done about the issue.

Some of the residents had early this year, protested (half naked) the unlawful detention of their family members in front of the Shagamu road police station, Ikorodu, Lagos state over illegal possession of landed properties in the sleepy community.

They are now expressing their grievances against Sir K, whose boys it was alleged, killed each other and dumped the corpses on their farmlands, in a bid to deliberately implicate them.

Barrister Sadik, who doubles as  the counsel to the association of Communities Against Terrorism in Lagos and Ogun states (ACATLO) stated that the kingpin has been causing unnecessary unrest for the people of the village with his boys and has likened the issue to the acts of terrorism being carried out by Boko Haram.

“My clients are being repeatedly terrorised and it is getting out of hand,” he said.

“Those boys are like Boko Haram insurgents; they demolish houses, burn houses, loot, rape and do everything that terrorists do and we have complained to the Police but they seem not to be helping issues.

“We have been to the highest office in Abuja, but up till this moment, nothing has been done. The boys, inspired by their leader, Sir K, want to now robe my clients with a corpse of one of their boys, but we have evidences against them.

“The police seem to have been bought over by this man, that is why we are channeling our grievances to other sources.  We are crying to the public to help us out on this matter. The governors of both states should come to our aid and help us out of this mess, my clients are really tired,” he further explained.

While reacting to the allegations, Sir K noted that he was unaware of anything happening in Ilu Oloye.

He told Naij.com that: “I have not been to the said place in a really long while and I do not have boys who were involved in any such fracas. What I know is that I have surveyors on the site and none of them was reported to be missing. So, nobody should say things that are untrue about me”.

Barr. Sadik, however, countered these claims by the alleged kingpin of the syndicate, quering that, “can you buy people’s shrines and ancestors alongside their landed properties?

“He should stop terrorising the people. If there are issues that he has to settle, there are ways to go about it, not through terrorism,” the legal practitioner averred.
