Commosion in the House....
The effort of the peace committee headed by the former Speaker of the House of Representative, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal to calm the crisis at the House hit a rock yesterday, as both Dogara’s group and Gbajabiamila’s failed to agree.
It would be recalled the All Progressive Congress governors set up peace committees to liaise with the leadership of both red chamber and green chamber. The Governor of Sokoto State, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, as a virtue of his immediate past position as the Speaker of the House, considered to be the best to liaise with the leaders of the house of representatives, so he chairs the committee sent to the House, while the Edo state Governor, Gov. Adams Oshiomole heads the committee sent to the Senate.
Information reaching us said that, the meeting had no headway yesterday, as both Dogara’s group and Gbajabiamila’s could not agree. The source revealed that, at the meeting Dogara offered Gbajabiamila the chairmanship of the Ad Hoc Committee on Constitution Review, a very influential and heavily-funded committee, in exchange for the position of House Majority Leader. But Mr. Femi rejected the offer in compliance with his party’s (APC) decision on the principal office.
Party supremacy must stand, we heard some people saying party’s supremacy is no more relevant, but our stand remains the same, is either party supremacy is respected or the entire APC caucus holds an election to decide on this matter, Gbajabiamila stated.
