Keshi off to USA, receives dismissal letter

Axed Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has confirmed that he has received his letter of disengagement from the national team by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

And the former Togo and Mali coach has since proceeded to the United States of America to spend time with his family.

Sports Vanguard can confirm that Keshi travelled to the USA on Friday night, following a request by him to the NFF to proceed on his annual leave, which was to end by August 4. The NFF, we gathered, graciously granted Keshi’s request before playing a fast one on the former Super Eagles captain when it announced his sack a day later.

‘’What happened can be likened to a political drama’’, a usually reliable source said on phone Sunday.

‘’Keshi was just one day into his annual leave as granted by the NFF when we got news of his removal as coach of the Super Eagles. It was a real coup by the NFF and we were surprised that it could all come to this shortly two months into his two-year contract’’, our source added.

When contacted to know if the coach has received his letter of disengagement as Eagles coach, Keshi’s manager and brother, Emmanuel Ado, while speaking to Sports Vanguard on phone confirmed that Keshi has received the sack letter as Eagles handler.

‘’I can confirm to you that Keshi has received the letter of disengagement as Eagles coach. The contents of the letter are clear and we would not want to comment any further on the matter’’, Keshi’s manager said.
