The crisis at the Senate has taken a new dimension as some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) drag the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki,
others to court over an alleged plot to make the former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, as the Senate’s Minority Leader of the 8th National Assembly.
According to the group, emergence of Senator Godswill Akpabio, a first term Senate, as the Senate’s Minority Leader of the 8th National Assembly would be violating Order 3(2) of the Senate Standing Order 2015 (as amended), which could negate the Senate’s ranking tradition.
The group therefore asked the court to restrain the Senate from departing from the Senate Standing Order 2015 (as amended)
