Bayelsa Gov. To Declare August 28
Embattled Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, has announced he will formally declare his intention to run for a second term in office as governor of the state on August 28, 2015.
ickson, who allegedly paid close to N100 million to an Italian firm, Hacking Team, to hack mobile devices and computers of Nigerians is currently under investigation by the office of the National Security Adviser for allegedly forging sensitive national documents in the process of buying hacking solutions for the Italian firm.
In a statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Daniel Iworiso-Markson and published in Daily Independent newspaper, the governor asked his teeming supporters to come out in their numbers on the day.
It noted that the people’s coming out en mass would be their mark of appreciation for the development strides of the Dickson administration.
The statement added that more details of the governor’s declaration would be made public in due course.
The governor will face stiff competition from Moses Siasia (PDP), Timipre Sylva (APC), Timi Alaibe (APC), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri (APC) and Senator Clever Ikiskpo (APC)
Meanwhile, former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Timi Alaibe including over seventy leaders of the party are set to received into the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
