Niger Cuts The Expenditures In Half By Extraordinary Measures

Niger has made an extraordinary move to cut the expenditures, simultaneously making many unemployed.

Sani Bello, who won gubernatorial election in Niger under teh APC platform, has taken the party’s broom to brush out some extra ministries.

Governor of Niger state Abubakar Sani Bello plans to cut the expenditures of the state treasury by reducing the quantity of ministries from 23 to 14.

The press gathered that the news about reduction of ministries may catch many by surprise. Still, according to reports from Niger state, Abubakar Sani Bello has already ordered to issue a circular ordering the reduction of ministries in preparation for the submission of the list of commissioners to the State Assembly.

Ibrahim Dooba, the chief press secretary to the state governor, confirmed to the press that the nine ministries have been eliminated in preparation for the submission of the list  of commissioners to the State Assembly.

Still, he didn’t confirm whether the list was already  submitted to the House of Assembly. It is rumoured that the list may surprise many as well, but it reportedly takes into account all the three Senatorial districts, to avoid the further complaints similar to those referred to the last appointments made by Sani Bello.

According to the APC, the state governor, Alhaji Sani Bello, inherited huge debt because the financial dealings under his predecessor Aliyu Babangida were not transparent.
