Femi Adesina, the special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity has changed his mind about exchanging words with Olisa Metuh, the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Metuh and Adesina have been engaged in a battle of words, taking swipe at each other.
Speaking with Daily Trust, the president’s aide said: “I won’t answer Olisa Metuh because I have thrown away the broken record.”
Adesina was reacting to a statement by Metuh, who described him as an embarrassment to the presidency.
Metuh had said: “While we appreciate the fact that Mr. Adesina is not conversant and knowledgeable in politics and intricate issues of governance, he should have applied the common sense of covering his hollowness in this regard and save the Presidency the embarrassment of an arrogant attempt to wave off very serious questions hanging in the face of the present administration.”
According to the PDP spokesman, Adesina did not answer critical issues raised by the party but rather “embarked on insults, shadow-chasing and fouling of the media space with uncouth language.”
In his response to an earlier statement made by the PDP that the Buhari-led administration is dictatorial and hypocritical in its fight against corruption, Adesina described the opposition as a broken record. He also said the PDP should be pitied and they had run out of ideas.
