Vacancy For The Post Of Registrar
The Governing Council of Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun hereby announces that the position of Registrar of the University will be vacant by May 2015.
In keeping with the provision of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions)Act 1993 as amended in 2003, 2007, 2012 and in exercise of its power contained therein,the Governing Council wishes to commence the process of filling the impending vacancy. Consequently,applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position.Interested Candidates are requested to note the following information about the University.
The University
The Federal University of petroleum Resources,Effurun (FUPRE),Delta State,Nigeria was established in March 2007 under a Federal Government of Nigeria initiative to build a specialized university to produce unique high manpower and relevant expertise for the Oil & Gas sector in Nigeria and worldwide.
FUPRE is the first of its kind in Africa and it is destined to be the premier international instituition of choice with the state of the art facilities to provide the petroluem and allied sectors,world class education,training,research,consultancy and extension services.
The position:
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except as regards matters for which the Bursar is responsible in accordance with section6(2) of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provision) Decree No.11(1993). The Registrar is,by virtue of that Office, also Secretary to council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.
Jobs Qualification and Experience:
Candidates should be graduates with good honours Degree in relevant discipline obtained from a recognised University and must have had not less than fifteen (15)years post-qualification working experience,including relevant administrative experience not below the rank of a Deputy Registrar in a public University.Candidates must be information and Communication Technology (ICT)complaint and must command respect and be able to carry colleagues along.
Possession of a higher degree(s)will be an added advantage.
Salary and Conditions of Service
The renumeration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Registrar of all Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Government/Governing Council as appropriate. In accordance with the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2012, the successful candidates shall hold office for a single term of five(5) years .
Fringe benefits include a pension in consonance with the Contributory Pension Scheme and appropriate allowances as may be approved from time to time by the Government/University Council.

Each applicant must have three (3)referees who should be requested by the applicant to forward their referees Report under confidential cover by courier service directly to th AG.Vice-Chancellor.
All applications should be submitted by courier service under confidential cover in sealed envelopes marked "post of Registrar, FUPRE" to reach the official of the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources,P.M.B.1221, Effurun, Nigeria not later than six(6) weeks from the date of Publication.
