Senator Danjuma La’ah, representing Southern Kaduna senatorial zone, blasted the federal government and local authorities for inaction against recent outbreaks of violence in the state. His outcry was widely supported on social media.
Danjuma La’ah insists that situation in South Kaduna is not much better than in the north-eastern Nigeria.
Senator Danjuma La’ah urges both federal and local authorities to impose urgent measures to ensure security in the Southern Kaduna, where at least 14 people have been killed and 13 another critically injured recently in several outbreaks of violence.
Senator La’ah insisted that the terror threats in Southern Kaduna should be given equal attention from authorities as the war against Boko Haram militants in the north-eastern region.
“The manner in which our people are being killed with impunity still resembles the same fashion of mindless murder of our people under the former government,” told La’ah the press, adding that “this is giving me much concern and I want to call the attention of the world to this wickedness that has always been going on without any seeming solution.”
Addressing the press, Danjuma La’ah also listed most recent attacks of well- armed gunmen against unarmed civilians in Kaduna state, telling that at least nine people were killed and another thirteen critically wounded on June 16 in the village of Kastak, four people were killed and several others injured in the Ayagan village on June 5, and another one person was murdered in the Kyari Daddu village on June 11. All the casualties were killed in the terroristic attacks of the same pattern.
“As a responsible senator, I cannot sit and claim that it will soon be well when no authority has shown any interest in the insecurity that has bedevilled our people since 2011,” he blasted in his speech inaction of authorities towards the problem of violence in the state, adding that “in the light of the above, I am asking for the following: that the federal government should make Southern Kaduna one of the areas needing urgent and immediate security response just like it is doing in parts of North East zone,” concluded the Danjuma La’ah.
His accusations were widely supported by the ordinary citizens on social media.
“Systematic elimination of Christians in Southern Kaduna is a conscious attempt by both the Fulanis and religious fanatics to eliminate circularity in Kaduna State! Only a satanic religion can be promoted through bloodshed because God does not drink blood!” – commented on La’ah’s claims Austeen Eugene from Lagos.
“About that the truth [should] be told in the North where the majority Muslim and Hausa-Fulani community have everything in the book hook or crook to oppress [and] murder minorities. They’ve lived in lies and denial and have been using the worse form of forced assimilation to make them “Hausa-Fulani “. All the fighting and killings in the North is all about this. The President is aware the Emirs, Governors, politicians, intelligentsias, clerics, etc. are the ones driving these forced conversions, hate and killings. The same philosophy is being applied nationally, that’s why we have been in a state of perpetual instability and having stunted growth and development. It seems to me that the minorities in the North have been cowed into accepting their fate as it is.” – told another Lagosian Peter Mgbeke.
“It’s high time [to] Southern Kaduna senators to speak – nice one, sir” – commented on La’ah statement Kenneth Zenom Stephen.
“It has been happening since the former administration of Mr clueless [President Goodluck Jonathan] and he didn’t do anything about it and the senator is crying foul,” commented a user nicknamed on FB Princeib Junior.
