Kenya Africans Blast CNN For Expressing Fears Over Obama’s Safety In Africa
Twitter, is awash with a hashtag #SomeoneTellCNN at the moment. The hashtag is currently the number one trending topic on the micro-blogging site.
The trend is as a result of the Cable News Network (CNN) suggestion that Kenya is a ”hotbed of terror,” due to the impending visit of President Barack Obama of the United States of America to the East African nation which happens to be Obama’s fatherland.
Kenya has been subjected to many attacks from terrorist group, Al Shabab in the past and CNN must have done the report with the attacks in bed.
But many Kenyans and indeed Africans have found the report demeaning and are lashing out on the TV station for its gaffe.
Before the Nigerian presidential elections earlier this year, CNN turned down political adverts from Nigeria, a move which was hailed by many Nigerians.
