The Nigerian Army has announced the the appointment of Brigadier General Musa Yusuf as the new commander of the elite Guard’s Brigade in Abuja.
The New Commander takes over from General Anthony Omozoje who was redeployed to command the 14th Brigade in Ohafia, Abia State.
At the handing over ceremony, General Yusuf swore that he was committed to ensuring the safety of President Muhammadu Buhari and his family.
“Well for now we are prepared to face all the challenges, we know the major challenges in the country,” General Yusuf said, adding that “on the issues of insurgency in and around Abuja, there are arrangements in place to make sure the city is secured.
The out going commander, Omozoje thanked the brigade and explained that it was never a dull moment working with the brigade, he told the media that he was committed, disciplined during his tenure with the brigade.
This continues with the new theme of new President Muhammadu Buhari in ensuring change in the major security wings of the nations defence, which he began with the SSS and then the Sevice Chiefs.
