Radio Biafra’s Hate Propaganda Against Me – Buhari

Radio Biafra’s Hate Propaganda Against Me – Buhari

The allegations by the radio Biafra that President Muhammadu Buhari has been expressing anti-Igbo sentiments has been denied by the presidency.
The propaganda Radio Biafra claims that in a BBC Hausa interview, President Buhari belittled the Igbo ethnic group. Presidential spokesperson, Garba Sheu said, the propaganda by the Radio Biafra is weak, malicious, slanderous and very far from the truth.
It was reported that a recording which has been repeatedly played back by the Radio Biafra, the voice on the recording which the pirate station will want us to believe to be the voice of President Buhari is not the voice of President Buhari. Garba Sheu went on to call on Nigerians not to be deceived by a pirate radio station’s hate propaganda against Buhari.

This is said to be the first presidency’s official response to the hate propaganda against the President by the pirate radio station. Also the claim that the Radio Biafra have been taken off air is not true, as the underground station is still functioning and broadcasting.

Since March 31 when Mr President was declared winner of the presidential election he has not granted any other interview to BBC Hasua.

In a statement by Mr. Sheu Garba, he said: “President Buhari has not had any interview with the BBC’s Hausa Service since his assumption of office as alleged by the agents of disunity behind the pirate radio station’s inflammatory and divisive broadcasts.”

“The last interview he had with the BBC Hausa Service, lasting not more than five minutes, was on the day he was declared winner and given his certificate of return as President-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission.”

“President Buhari is the President of all Nigerians and will continue to treat all citizens on the basis of fairness, equality and equity.

“Nigerians should therefore ignore all propaganda designed to sow seeds of discord among them and promote a separatist agenda against national unity, solidarity and progress.”

Also in the report, it was stated that the BBC Hausa Service Editor, Mansor Liman has also distanced the BBC from the interview clip “being ascribed by the pirate radio station to President Buhari”.
