Given the crisis that preceded and followed the election of principal officers of the National Assembly, it was as if Asiwaju had become another Afonja, completely swallowed by the Fulanis, and never to ressurect despite the Apaji that the old man had as C-in-C of the Yoruba Nation’s Armed Forces. But it appears Tinubu has broken the jinx.
The fear of an average Yoruba Leader, in modern times, is to become another Afonja – enter into an alliance with the core North and having every agreement repudiated with physical or political death as reward for steadfast loyalty in the face of doubts among the folks of the South-West.
