BIG drama as indigenes OF Awori storm Tinubu’s residence… You need to know why
It was a big drama at the Lagos residence of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Sunday, When some Awori indigenes stormed his compound.
The group was protesting the alleged cutting off of their people in the appointment of public officials.
The group said, despite their support for the Lagos State Government in the past 16 years, none of the Awori indigenes had been given any public appointment.
One of the leaders of the group who spoke said, they have been supporting Tinubu and his party since he was elected as the Governor of the state. When Tinubu created some Local Council Development Areas for us in 2002, non of our indigenes was given any position. We therefore call on the Asiwaju to address the issue.
Stating their exact demands, another leader of the group said, they want CHANGE. More so, we want Awori indigenes to head the local council development areas, not outsiders. Adding that they have qualified people who can take up the positions in their communities.
However, the protesters were addressed by the former Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Sunny Ajose, who commended them for the peaceful protest. He also assured them that the matter would be addressed as soon as possible.
